Interview With Dipali Sharma



     Dipali was born and brought up in Delhi. She completed her NTT from Bal Bharti Teacher Training Institute and her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities stream from Delhi University. She is an Information Technology professional, behavioral and product trainer by profession.
     Her vast experience spans more than nine years in various sectors of the corporate world from Teaching, BPO, direct marketing of fast moving consumer goods, and imparting training in different vertical streams and overall operations in organizations where she was employed.
     At present she is working with a Real Estate Company and is holding the post of Manager Training- Agency operations.
     Dipali is a passionate reader and she adores music a lot, and believes there is a song to describe every emotion. She likes to scribe down her thoughts, and feelings in the form of poems, articles, short notes and stories. She loves to read romantic stories of different authors. Her favorite authors are Paulo Coelho and Khalid Husseini. Her poetry Has been published in anthology named’ Confession of Hearts (English) & Kavyashala (Hindi).
     She is also actively involved as managing editor with ‘Aagaman Group’ for its Literary English Quarterly Magazine.

Today we are very lucky to be interviewing Dipali Sharma, author of Those Seven Days.

Hi Dipali, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Well about myself, I’m a Professional Trainer be it full time or freelancing. This can be categorized as a behavioual, product-process & soft skills trainer, I deliver all these trainings as per the projects assigned.
Besides my work I am very passionate about music and reading. It won’t be wrong to state that I love writing. Apart from writing, I have also been working from 2002 onwards, ever since a cruel twist of destiny took my near and dear ones away forever.

What are your ambitions for your writing career?
As far as my aspirations go, one day I want to prove to the world, I am not only a compulsive writer but indeed a salable writer with great values.

So, what have you written?
My poetry has been published in anthology named’ Confession of Hearts (English) & Kavyashala (Hindi).
A short story had been published in the anthology named ‘Lovingly Yours’ in 2015.

Although the blog started from 2012, the fact that this is a personal blog implies the fact that its full of emotions. The language used is mixed English & Hindi. Topics covered – Book Reviews, Poetry, Articles, Product launches.
Purpose of writing the blog – Wish to share my views about things and few social issues. Same with attending product launches as I try to view about any product from the customer prospective. Views till date – 39,300 +

Give us an insight into your main character Drishti. What does she do that is so special?
Drishti is the main character of the story. Just out of college, she takes up a job and realizes the responsibilities that her parents will face if she marries within the cast. Her sacrifice and thereafter what all happens.

Which actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your story, ‘Those Seven Days?’
Names which come to my mind for this character are Rekha ji and Tabu.

What genre is your story?
Real Life and fiction.

What draws you to this genre?
Was moved by the story when I heard about the personal experience of someone known to me.

How much research did you do to write this story?
Haven’t done any research for it is more of personal experience shared by someone I knew. So, this story is a mixture of realty and fiction.

When did you decide to become a writer?
I never decided anything in this relation it just happened as I like to express myself with the help of words.

Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
My days are dedicated to my work. It’s only when I am little free or traveling it happens.

Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
Stories, blogs, articles are sturcted on my laptap. However poetry and couplet are at times created on my phone.

Given that you work full time and also associated with ‘Aagaman Group’ for its Literary English Quarterly Magazine as a managing editor, how do you find time for writing?

My passion for writing is the only zeal behind to motivate me and make me strike a balance between writing and working.

Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being. –Kevin Kruse

What is your favorite positive saying?
I hope one day you will realize how you were never alone, because you were here once and I’ve been always been with you, even when you were out searching for yourself.

What is your favorite quote?

You can’t start the next chapter of your life, if you keep re-reading the last one.

What is your favorite book and why?
Khalid Husseini- Thousand splendid sun & Maria Puzo- Godfather

What is your favorite film and why?
Well, favorite films are many as I like watching movies especially romantic movies.

How was experience with Sanmati Publishers?
It is indeed a great association with Sanmati where I have the liberty to work as per my comfort.

What would be your message for our readers?
With reference to my short story all I want is honest reviews and opinions from my readers.
